EARLY, RARE
AND STUNNING VINTAGE LYNSKEY TITANIUM LITESPEED ROAD RACING BICYCLE! I’m extremely
pleased to offer this beautiful and visually striking vintage TITANIUM LYNSKEY LITESPEED lightweight road/race
bike, dating from the late 1980s-early 1990s. Its gleaming polished titanium finish really contrasts with the bright
apple-green decals, bar tape, and even the green-stripe Vittoria tires. The frame has two bottle-cage mounts; serial
number is #2929. Size is
about 54cm (I’m 5’8” and it fits me perfectly). Equipped with full Shimano Dura-Ace (2x7) mechanical groupset, downtube
shifters, and Dura-Ace BL 7402 rim brakes – even the tiniest parts are marked
Dura-Ace (see photos). Includes new out-of-the-box vintage Selle Italia "Turbo" white saddle (original box included). Cinelli 64-42
alloy bars, Campagnolo stem. Mavic gray-anodized
wheels laced to Phil hubs are wrapped with Vittoria Pro Team Kevlar 700c-23
tires. True to its racing heritage it is
featherweight, seemingly no heavier than my full carbon-fiber Specialized
Tarmac. The bike is in pristine, immaculate
condition, brimming with “eyeball” and “Wow! factor,” obviously having been
treated like royalty (or wall art) its whole life. Litespeed evolved
in the late ‘80s, when David Lynskey was injured while running competitively
and his doctor recommended cycling as an alternative. Being that his family was in the tech metal
fabrication business, David began hand-building his own frames using the exotic "new" metal titanium –
and Litespeed was born. This is one of
those early, hand-built titanium bikes. The
Vittorias might even be original, are in good shape, hold air, look fabulous,
and are perfect as-is for a wall hanger, but may need new tubes at least if the new
owner elects to ride the bike more than around the block. Always kept on a rack, not on its tires. Newer components include the green Fizik bar tape, and repro flat pedals with toe-clips. Just this one. I’ve never seen another like it, have
you? A work of art, a unique collector’s
treasure, and a rare opportunity to own a genuine piece of bicycle history. Ready to ride right out of the box. Will be properly packaged, boxed and shipped
via UPS. $2,695.00 +
$149.99 shipping.
